Ztrans is a division of Zia Therapy Center, Inc. in Alamogordo, NM. Zia Therapy Center has been in operation since 1960 in this community. Ztrans has been providing transportation services since the 1980's. Ztrans started providing public transportation in 2001 and has grown every year since. Ztrans provides service to the general public in Alamogordo, Holloman AFB, La Luz, Tularosa, Mescalero Indian Reservation, and intercity commuter service to the City of Las Cruces.
Mr Hardin has been director of Ztrans since Jan 0f 2004. He is the current Vice-President for the New Mexico Passenger Transportation Association (NMPTA), a committee member of the American Passenger Transit Association's (APTA) Bus Maintenance Training group. He is also a past member of the National Rural Transit Assistance Program (NRTAP) review Board in Washington D.C.
In 2001 Freda moved to the newly formed Transportation Department and became a dispatcher for the Public Transportation program. A few years later she obtained her Commercial Drivers License and became a driver. She was the lead driver for 4 years on the Cottonwood Route. Due to medical reasons she movecd back to administrative duties eventually becoming the Operations Supervisor.
Kim Cox has been with Zia Therapy Center,Inc. for over 9 years. She was the Food Service coordinator for 6 years. Feeling that she needed a change, she moved over to Transportation. She has been with Transportation for 3 years, and is the lead Dispatcher having brought a measure of stability to that position. She even continues to be a drivng force behind technological change in the Dispatch center.
