Joseph Hardin, Transporation Director
Mr Hardin has been director of Ztrans since Jan 0f 2004. He is the current Vice-President for the New Mexico Passenger Transportation Association (NMPTA), a committee member of the American Passenger Transit Association's (APTA) Bus Maintenance Training group. He is also a past member of the National Rural Transit Assistance Program (NRTAP) review Board in Washington D.C.
Since taknig control, Ztrans has grown from a 7 bus system with ridership of around 1500 per month to a 21 bus system with ridership of over 9,000 per month. Mr Hardin retired from the USAF in 1991, has been married to his wife Carel for 31 years and has two grown sons. Joseph, 28, is a Phd student at Colorado State University, and Shane, 24, is an employee of Lowes hardware in Las Cruces.
Mr Hardin believes that Public Transportation is very important to the local community and strives to provide the best system possible with limited resources. He is always open to new and better ideas.
